Presenting two of the hottest new bands TV Face + Idyllic
The band called TV FACE are a DIY post-punk/noise-rock trio from Lancaster (UK). Expect weird guitar combined with a tight and heavy rhythm section, laced with deranged yet tuneful boy-girl vocals. They have been compared to Braniac, McClusky, Buzzcocks, and Pixies.
Whatever it is, it’s backed up by tight bass and drums and huge reverb laden guitar textures, unfolding a grindhouse tale of fear and paranoia.” – Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6 Music
“It’s just absolutely fantastic. It’s music that smashes against walls and floors and ceilings and changes shape on each ecstatic, erratic, elastic bounce. … An explosive, serrated slice of jagged schizoid noise pop, with those post-punk corners, kept sharp.” – Louder Than War
“Punchy vocals dominate over driving guitars, swirling around screaming hooks and commanding lyrics, jumping into a sea of unrelenting energy.” – Little Dose of Indie
The band called TV FACE’s debut album Tide of Men is scheduled for release in September 2023 on Evil Blizzard’s label Cracked Ankles. Their songs rage at the expectation that we should put a brave face on while we’re being kept out, pushed down and held under; each song a short, sharp clap back to the keep-calm-and-carry-on-gang. Gloriously, riotously, unashamedly angry, with a dash of indignation, and a soupçon of incredulity.
The band have been played by, amongst others, Huw Stephens on Radio One, tipped as one to watch by Tom Robinson (6Music), regularly playlisted by John Kennedy (Radio X), and championed by BBC Music Introducing Lancashire, Frank Skinner (Absolute Radio) and Mat Baty (Pigsx7, Amazing Radio). They have supported Warmduscher, FlithyDirty, Objections, tricot and Brix Smith.
Idyllic have emerged as one of the hottest bands in the North
West music scene.
The band recently spent 6 days in the studio with producer
Tony Long and recorded 5 tracks which capture the energy
and sublime musicality of their live shows.
“We’ve worked hard to ensure this EP reflects the fact that we
are without doubt, a Rock n Roll band! This is something that
has always been evident in our live shows, we just needed to
get it down on record!” – Ben Rogers
“405 Line”, the first single from the EP is out on November
10th!
Having gigged extensively in 2022/23, they have received high
praise indeed with gig goers mesmerised by their
musicianship and Rock N Roll exuberance! They have been
duly rewarded with a Shiiine On festival slot this November.
These guys are a must see!
